    Still in Motion

My movement classes are based on developing physical and technical skills

that emphasize the functional aspect of the body and its awareness.

I guide the dancers to increase their potential while fully and positively experiencing the practice of dance.
The objective of my class is to encourage personal movement's exploration and development, enrich the range of each dancer's movement palette whilst maintaining a research process.

The exercises I build will help refining the movement quality in a wide range of textures with rhythmic, spatial and dynamic variables. I then provide technical skills that gradually increase the articulation of the body; muscle and bone, the developing of strength and simultaneously kinesthetic sensitivity and clarity of the movements between sculptural pause into dynamic flow.

In particular, my practice references to traditional Korean dance, which I am trained in. These practices include: integrated controlled breathing that deeply engages the torso, the curving of the arm similar to a calligraphy pattern, the peculiar footwork that help sustain a grounding stability.
These training tools guide the dancer that movement is generated from the core of the body then reaching out through the limbs, allowing the dancer to be concentrated in moments.

In the process we will develop combinations of the movement tasks and as well we will include improvisation work that engages the dancers to create self-directed movement variations developed from materials what we trained.
These ways dancers can hone their own creative and independent signature rather than merely following up steps.

    MD 301- Music Dance 301

The series Music Dance 301 (MD301) was created in direct response to a need for public and artists to re-consider and re-present dance/music performance within a contemporary context. MD301 series presents improvised performance with an explicit choreographic/composition approach as well as set works that have as main focus the relationship movement-sound.
The series invites local and international artists to perform in OT 301.
